Nicoleta Richard was born in Salaj, Romania, and moved to North Carolina after being adopted at the age of two. She started designing gymnastic leotards at a young age. From there she branched out to other areas of fashion design. This was when she decided to pursue a career in fashion. Her first degree was in Fashion Merchandising. She then decided to obtain a BFA degree in Fashion Product Development. While getting this degree she was drawn to the technical aspects of fashion. Her favorite classes were CLO3D, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, PLM, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
